The month of March is dedicated to Women's History Month. This year the theme for Women's History Month has been decided as "Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories." This theme is designated to recognize women who have been active on the media or their community, storytelling.
With that, let us recognize Gladys Howell. Gladys is a retired school teacher, she taught in Lake Wales for more than 30 years. She's recognized for her great contributions and activity in the community. She supported the Green and Gold Foundation as well as volunteering for various groups in the community like the Girl Scouts, NAACP, Lake Wales Care Center, Easter Star, American Legion and her church.
Gladys was honored with the 2021 Pioneer of the Year Award for her activity and achievements in the community. Gladys is a prime example of Women Who Tell Our Stories.
